Comparison

TracePath vs GlitchTip.

GlitchTip is a lean open-source error tracker you host yourself. TracePath is a managed platform that covers the signals around the error as well.

We build TracePath, so read this with that in mind. Every claim about GlitchTip below comes from their own public documentation, checked on 2026-09-21, and we quote no competitor prices because they change without notice.

FAQ

Common questions.

Should I just run GlitchTip instead?

If you only need error tracking and uptime checks, and running a Postgres plus workers is not a burden for you, GlitchTip will do the job and cost you nothing in licence fees. TracePath makes sense when you want the trace, the log line and the replay next to the error without wiring three systems together.

Is TracePath Sentry-SDK compatible?

No. TracePath's primary ingest path is OTLP, with its own API for browser and mobile clients. Moving from a Sentry-compatible SDK means switching to the OpenTelemetry SDKs for your backends.

Can I export my data out of TracePath?

Yes. Because ingest is standard OTLP, the simplest insurance is to fan out from your collector to a second destination from day one. Nothing about your instrumentation is TracePath-specific.
